Trauma Therapy in Lakeview, Chicago

Inclusive, trauma-focused therapy in Lakeview and Highland Park and by telehealth across Illinois. We work with what's happening in your body and nervous system, not only the story.

Does this sound like you?

  • You came in for anxiety or depression, and wonder if something older is underneath.

  • You had a "fine" childhood, but you still feel empty, flat or alone.

  • You've done years of talk therapy and understand your patterns, but they haven't changed.

  • You've lived through something that overwhelmed you, recently or long ago.

Many of the people we see never called what they went through trauma, because nothing seemed bad enough. Others have spent years understanding exactly why they react the way they do, and still can't change it. Both are what we do.

How we help

  • EMDR therapy: processing distressing memories without having to retell every detail

  • The Safe and Sound Protocol: a listening program for a nervous system stuck on alert

  • PSIP: somatic, relational trauma therapy for attachment wounds and dissociation

  • Couples therapy: for repeated conflict, distance and trust, including when trauma is part of it

  • Individual therapy for anxiety, depression, acute stress, PTSD and life transitions, and support for children and teens with Alex White

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, with your therapist in the room

When talk therapy has stalled, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy builds a medicine experience into therapy: preparation before, a trauma therapist with you for the whole session, and integration after. You can keep your current therapist. We also run a small ketamine-assisted therapy group in Lakeview, six people at most.
